leica has introduced the ‘leica C type 112′, the first model of the company’s new line of digital compact cameras. the ‘leica C’ is built with a 1/1.7″ CMOS’ sensor, provides 12.1 megapixels of resolution and weighs 195 grams with the battery. available in two colorways: champagne and bordeaux, the shell was designed by AUDI – who were also commissioned to develop the range of camera accessories. for the first time, leica has integrated WI-FI and NFC connectivity into their cameras, which allows for real-time viewing of images and videos from a smartphone or tablet. featuring a high-performance zoom lens – with a range equivalent to 28 to 200 mm in 35 mm format – the leica C delivers crisp image quality, even in unfavorable lighting conditions.

equipped with a 3 inch LCD screen and integrated viewfinder, the leica C offers photographers complete control during exposure and recording in full-HD. in addition, its autofocus and a continuous-shooting mode can shoot up to ten frames per second, capturing even the smallest details in sequence. for those looking to pick up the new compact camera, leica has teamed up with adobe to provide copies of photoshop and lightroom for post-production editing. the high-end point and shoot will hit shelves in october 2013 with a starting price tag of 699 USD.
