founded by four architects, morpholio is an application for creatives to share, present and discuss their works in a seamless fashion. the program includes four different suites: a digital porfolio (morpholio), mood panels (board), sketching / drafting (trace), and drawing (journal). taking it one step further, the team presents the ‘automated visual assembly’ feature, also known as AVA: tailored for interiors projects, the program can package data more intelligently and allows designers to navigate seamlessly from process to presentation.

for every interior design project, there are three separate and often tedious steps to make: the mood board for the client, the book of cut sheets and specs for the drawing set, and product list for purchasing. on today’s desktop, each one is independently created by different programs, making it both inefficient and painstaking. between hunting data, laying out images and assembling details, hours pile on, costly mistakes are made and design budgets shrink. hence, AVA program by morpholio lets designers create a mood board of images and quickly flip it over to reveal an editable spreadsheet of its contents; with another flip, one can find a book of customizable cut sheets ready to export or present.
‘interior design thrives on texture, color, collage and storytelling. these days our boards are filled more and more with inspiration images from pinterest, in addition to swatches and samples. What lies ahead for designers are tools like AVA that make it easy and pleasurable to move between the real and the digital,’ morpholio co-creator anna kenoff explains.

AVA turns boards into cut sheets and product or material lists
added to the latest ‘board pro’ suite, AVA not only allows one to do their work effortlessly and intuitively, it also becomes a powerful presentation tool. with the tap of a single button, it hides all editing functions and turns boards or lists into dynamic layouts that can be viewed with great clarity on the iPad or projected onto larger screens. more importantly, AVA streamlines workflow and ensures complete consistency between multiple formats — allowing time and energy to be reinvested toward advancing design.
‘when we work with images, taking them from the web to our desktop, often the sources and specs get lost,’ says ciara nackino, interior designer and morpholio ambassador. ‘with AVA, the links, info and sources stay at your fingertips and remain accessible when you need to move from inspiration to design’.

on another hand, morpholio has included new super tools that work with AVA in the board pro suite:
the pinterest portal: users can now log in and easily pull images from pinterest. if the initial boards have dozens of pins scattered and labeled, the designer can find space to test them out and narrow them down on morpholio’s ‘board’ suite.
cloud effects and exporting: ‘board’ integrates the image editing component from the adobe creative SDK for the highest photo editing quality, as well as the send to desktop API from adobe. this allows users to send an image file straight from the app to the desktop version of adobe photoshop CC.
layout control: ‘board’ backgrounds come in an array of colors, infinite sizes and textured materials. smart layer controls and fully customizable guides add ease to the design process.
build your library: the ‘board gallery’ provides access to classics from knoll and herman miller to brunschwig & fils, as well as favorites like curated kravet, BluDot and DWR. selectively curated with thousands of new products, the gallery is also a place to discover the most cutting edge, award winning design talents such as uhuru, juju papers, volk, rejuvenation, porcelanosa, tandus-centiva, dyson, davis, token, lutron, newell, and many more.

That looks like a series of well thought out apps to complement the natural digital workflow of today.
Sadly, it’s not available as either a web app or an Android app. I know what you’re thinking — Why would we produce an Android app ahead of a Windows app? — and the answer is that Chromebook 2-in-1 devices are currently crushing Mac sales, especially now that the new devices support Android apps. Intuitively, Chromebooks are already simpler to use — right this minute you’re using the Chrome browser, aren’t you? So I humbly ask, why not make an Android app sooner than later?
