nissan has unveiled the ZEOD RC – the world’s fastest race car that will reach speeds of more than 300km/h exclusively using electric technology at the le mans 24 hours in 2014. utilizing the same lithium battery technology as the nissan leaf EV, the experimental vehicle will trial variants of new e-drivetrain tech as part of its intended future return to the world’s most prestigious endurance race. in addition, the pilot program will test a zero-emission on-demand option, where the driver can switch between electric and petrol-powered drives – which will influence the future direction of how the company’s EV road cars use and further develop the technology.
