‘pantech pocket’ android smartphone

the pantech ‘pocket’ smartphone is an android 2.3 device featuring an unusual form factor, with a square-format screen and wide profile virtual keyboard.

the device’s 4-inch diagonal screen achieves 600x800p resolution. a 5-megapixel camera includes flash and supports the recording of 720p HD video, and the phone is bluetooth, wi-fi, and hotspot -ready. 600MB of memory are backed up with support for up to 32GB with the device’s single core qualcomm processor.

measuring 4.5 by 3.1 by 0.4 inches (114.7 x 78 x 11.3 mm) and weighing 4.66 ounces, the ‘pocket’ features a textured soft-model back. with four dedicated tactile keys on the device’s front, the virtual user interface includes an always-present navigation bar for easy access to calls, messaging, apps, and home.

available in AT&T stores beginning november 6th, the ‘pocket’ is currently on exhibition at the CTIA enterprise and applications 2011 exposition for mobile phone technology in business.
