swedish headphone maker jays AB have presented their second generation in-ear ‘q-JAYS’ earphones, built to deliver the most authentic and detailed sound experience possible. near-perfect acoustics and high-resolution details were made possible by integrating advanced audio engineering with various state-of-the-art development techniques such as metal injection molding, CNC and laser cutting. the new q-JAYS includes new innovative features, such as dual balanced armature drivers, tailor made acoustic filters, reference class sound signature, removable laser-cut protective filters and precisely tuned bass ports.

two speakers in each side

engineered like a set of reference loudspeaker monitors, q-JAYS feature dual speakers built into each side, one for low frequencies and one for midrange and highs. each speaker renders its dedicated frequency spectrums relaxed and naturally reproducing perfectly accurate tones. thanks to its custom drivers and a low crossover filter, users will enjoy a seamless frequency response without irregularities often found in many larger multiple driver systems.

q-JAYS curved solid one-piece housing is made by metal injection molding stainless steel. this, along with CNC machining and laser-cutting, allowed to create some of the most precise and finely toleranced earphones ever made, while still keeping the package extremely small. the earpieces were precisely manufactured; fine-tolerance stainless steel housing brings out every last detail of the drivers with absolute accuracy.

physical vapor deposition

the stainless steel parts are completed by applying a proprietary physical vapor deposition modification for the surface. considered as one of the toughest coatings in the industry, the finish binds vaporized metal particles with the stainless steel surface on molecular level to create its signature solid matte black, scratch-resistant surface.

q-JAYS are the world’s smallest earphones made with exchangeable cables. despite its small form factor, reliable, custom-made threaded connectors have been implemented in each housing. custom SSMCX connectors used within the housing are among the smallest in the world –  machined with durable threading and gold-plating, these micro-sized connectors create a durable, glitch-free fit with infinite conductivity.
