fitting into any light socket, the beam labs inc.’s ‘beam’ projector which doubles as a LED light, connects with a multitude of smart devices to turn flat surfaces and walls into big screens. the patent pending technology is easy to set up, through an iOS and android app, and can either be controlled via its own buttons or by the user’s bluetooth connected laptop, tablet or phone. screwed in to replace a bulb or used just by its power cable, it offers a collection of helpful and entertaining functions. users can play games, watch movies, show recipe instructions, display the weather forecast and much more though the projector. the company who are funding this project through their kickstarter campaign, is running a competition where people can suggest their own ‘IFs’ and ‘THENs’ use combinations – an example given is ‘at 8am, wake me up with the latest news and my agenda for the day’.
