navdy‘ creates a safer, more intuitive and interactive driving experience by allowing motorists to access their smartphone’s apps while keeping their eyes on the road. the smart technology does this by enabling users to simultaneously see navigation instructions, incoming phone calls or social media notifications. this is projected using a transparent head-up display (HUD) that can show both alerts and directions at the same time in a split screen.  the need to fumble around for the phone to operate, communicate or control music is no longer required as touch-less gestures and voice recognition – commands already used for google voice and siri – are incorporated instead.

‘touch-based apps clearly force you to take your eyes off the road,’ said co-founder and CEO doug simpson. ‘navdy is built from the ground up to be the safest and most intuitive way to make calls, use navigation, listen to music or access notifications without ever looking away from the road.’ attaining the driver’s eyes on the street is aided further as information is either displayed, read aloud or can be disabled entirely by the projector. as well, smartphone apps are purposely simplified to show only the necessary material in order to minimize distractions. the platform can also connect to a car’s computer meaning its performance statistics and vitals are advertised on to the 5.1 inch screen.
