‘tweak‘ does not only strain your waste; it solves the most disgusting task of throwing food scraps into the garbage can. there are many products that try to remedy this problem, but this rubber strainer does it better. recent shenkar college of design and engineering graduates, nitzan shafat and aviv rozenfeld, started working on a solution as industrial design students. their main goal was to avoid touching slimy or wet remnants while removing them after doing dishes. having created several prototypes, they found the way to a clean drain without getting one’s hands dirty. just pinch, lift and toss! this nifty gadget works in sinks as well as bath tubs, and comes in two sizes and several colors. in its first two weeks on kickstarter, the device has more than doubled its funding goal.
