ultimate ears created the ‘roll’, a disc shaped compact wireless speaker that is prepared for whatever life throws at it. the colorful system projects 360 degree sound from any bluetooth enabled smartphone or tablet from range as far as 65 feet (20 meters). the electronics are protected with a plasma coated acoustic skin that guarantees an IPX7 waterproof rating.

weighing only 12 ounces (340 grams), the series of speakers come in six different color options. on the back each is finished in rubber, and provided with a power button, 3.5 mm audio jack, a micro USB port, and a bungee cord that makes it attachable to almost any gear. the company developed a companion app the can remotely power off and on the speaker, and features pairing capabilities to popular streaming services like spotify and pandora. the ultimate ears ‘roll’ has an integrated rechargeable lithium ion battery that lasts up to nine hours. it will be available in the north america, and in select countries in europe and asia in june 2015.
