the viks GT lamborghini bike by velonia bicycles is urban cruiser and italian supercar mashup. the lamborghini-influenced viks ‘gran turismo’ has the same geometry and size as regular viks bicycles, but the bike is now entirely made out of aluminum alloy, making it 40% lighter than regular models. all models are handcrafted in the old viksfactory in tallinn, estonia.

the edgy and bold looking evolution of viks was inspired by the sharp edges and triangles found in the design of italian lamborghini supercars. compared to curved corners of its conventional bicycles, this version has sharp edges all around the corners of the aluminum alloy frame. the idea arose in the early beginning, when first viks bicycles were first made in 2013. it has taken the estonian workshop over three years to perfect the very first viks ‘GT lamborghini’. it features the very same lamborghini yellow (giallo midas) finish to highlight just how similar the bike looks to the car.

classic viks bicycles are built by hand using specialist stainless steel tubes, joints and laser cut parts. it takes about 60 separate steel pieces and two full working days to cut; bend; weld and sand one standard viks frameset, and one more day to sandblast and finish it all of with an eye-catching coat of paint. what make the frame stand out is the lack of the conventional seat tube. thanks to the ‘double’ frame there is no constructional need for it, allowing the design to stay airy, clean and simple. despite the unique shape of the frame, the strength is there. thick tubes and strong welds keep viks feeling solid and safe.
