at the 2015 new york auto show, four volkswagen ‘beetle’ special edition concepts, consisting of two coupés and a pair of cabriolets, debut to the public for the first time. extending the line-up of the recognizable car, the ‘cabriolet denim’ version combines the colors of ‘stonewashed blue metallic’ for the body, and ‘dark blue’ for the soft top. the convertible’s material features an unusual fabric texture that provides a visual reference to jeans, and has contrasting gray mirror caps, side skirts and body moldings.

the VW ‘beetle wave’ edition celebrates the spirit of the USA’s east and west coast beaches

 

 

 

coated in a spicy ‘habanero orange metallic’ shade, the VW ‘beetle wave’ illustrates the american spirit that is present on the east and west coast beaches in the USA. designed to help drivers enjoy the summer, it features offset bright tornado 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and chromed door mirrors.

fulfilling the growing demand for a pink model, especially in the U.S. and china, the ‘beetle pink’ edition is for those style-conscious people who want something even more special in their life. if the color wasn’t enough to add extra drama to the coupé, it gains a striking R-line front and rear bumpers. the interior contrasts with the exterior, by being decorated in chrome, aluminum and black – showcased by the high-gloss titanium finished dashpad.

completing the range, the ‘beetle R-Line’ concept stands for automotive sportiness, boasting a 217 hp 2.0-liter TSI engine and a new silhouette. it has a lower roof, a longer hood and is 0.6 inches wider than the standard production vehicle. adding to this, it features an aggressive bumper, covered with large air vents, and front and wrap-around high-gloss black moldings. for the interior, the version is equipped with upgraded sport bucket seats, and includes carbon fiber finished dashpad, door inserts and a steering wheel spoke trim.
