yamaha, and first-time collaborators GS mashin delivered an original interpretation of the popular sports heritage yamaha ‘XV950’ motorcycle. founder of GS mashin tom mosimann, was influenced by gothic architecture to create the low ‘XV950 ultra’. the race styled motorcycle also includes big narrow wheels and clip-on panels in a standout black-yellow-white color scheme. working from a small garage in bern, switzerland, GS mashin completed 95% of the build with just a few tools: an angle grinder, a bag of sand and a hammer. the external streamlining panels were handmade from 1.5 mm steel sheets with the mounts cut from a stainless steel pipe. a small floodlight sits inside the fairing with two integrated turn signals.

the custom fuel tank is also handcrafted from the same steel with the upper edge make with a trimming press. the lower section is cut from the original ‘XV950’ fuel tank. one of the standout elements of the build has to be the clean prototype rear suspension units built k-tech. the hand crafted steel tail unit wraps around a rear light unit and the seat is hand stitched with leatherwork by jose rey saddlery. the aluminum upper fork crown is without the holes for the risers to continue with the minimal aesthetic.
