murmur study is an interactive installation that uses 30 thermal printers to print off status updates from
twitter that contain variations on common emotional utterances like argh, meh or grrr. the project is
a collaboration between artists márton andrás juhász, christopher baker and kitchen budapest. the idea
for this project is a response to the fleeting thoughts that are accumulated, archived and digitally-indexed
online on sites like facebook and twitter. as baker points out, ‘the sheer volume of publicly accessible
personal — often emotional — expression should give us pause.’ the updates containing the keywords
are printed out on the thermal printers creating an endless stream of text that piles up on thee floor.
the murmur study printers are controlled by arduinos that receive data from processing software and the
paper is recycled in other projects.

I thought tweeting shoes was ridiculous enough!

I would like to see this made into a jazz piece. Convert key statuses to musical notes or themes. That would be rad.
