UK-artist anthony james creates large scale installations which experiment with light and space.
for the first time this year, his work is being presented at design miami / basel 2010
by los angeles art dealer patrick painter. of particular interest is james' 'birch' (2010) a large
vertical light box with young birch tree trunks extending within the length of the unit.
with one mirrored side the illusion of an endless perspective of birch trees is created.
the sculpture sold for 125, 000 USD to a german collector, while a small wall-mounted version
sold for 75,000 USD to a private swiss collection.

toyo ito used this principle for bathroom interiors even before the one mentioned by joseph. there's no ripping, it's using a known-to-all mirroring principle as a means to say something. the point is that what is being said here is quite banal, or at least it's the same as what's been already said using the same principle.
same+same +-=ripping, then you're right joseph.
