‘in still life 2001-2010’ is an interactive art project by artist john baldessari that runs on apple’s iphone
and ipad devices. the application is freely available to users of these device, and enables users to create
their own 17th-century dutch still life painting. users begin with a tabletop background and have the
ability to place 38 different objects into their scene. the project is presented by foryourart and final
paintings can even be shared with friends. the piece is based on abraham van beyeren’s
‘banquet still life’ painted in 1667.
