house of propellers in london is currently showcasing a collection of illustrations by james graham,
which were originally commissioned by the men’s magazine esquire.

---
following text from house of propellers site:

'over the past year, james has felt privileged to become a regular contributor to esquire.
the work he admires most has come from past art directors and designers of the magazine such as
george lois, paul rand and jean-paul goude.

the illustrations on display which originally featured in the magazine, were spotted across the pages
to demonstrate the magazines’ section on the life of a modern gentleman. themes ranged from the
practical to the more adventurous: starting up your own bank, surviving in the wild, writing a will,
what not to do on a date, and handy hints on fitness. james developed a pictogram style for non-frills
simplicity to interpret these stories visually and create a sense of continuity throughout the series.
for his second solo show in london at house of propellers, james has selected his favourite pieces,
producing a set of limited edition screen prints.

james graham is an illustrator / designer working from east london. since graduating from the
royal college of art in 2005, he has worked across advertising, design, editorial, publishing and the arts.
recent projects have included working on drawings for a book on the history of philosophy, graphics
for a swedish educational channel and an activity pack for an exhibition of houses made by children
collaborating with architects. clients include the welcome trust, new york times, selfridges, arnolfini
and united airlines.'

seems like no-one will make a comment, i have my doubts about "art". isn´t it communication?
