the new museum mounts isa genzken’s rose II

after three years of being mounted on the new museum in new york, ugo rondinone’s ‘hell, yes!’ sign was replaced by
‘rose II’ a massive aluminum rose by german artist isa genzken. the new sculpture was unveiled on november 13 as
the second sculpture in the museum’s façade sculpture program. ‘rose II’ stands 28 feet tall on the building’s outdoor
ledge. based in berlin, genzken is a big fan of new york stating, ‘to me, new york had a direct link with sculpture…
(it) is a city of incredible stability and solidity’. the sculpture will be on show until november 13, 2011.
