created from concrete blocks by ethan greenbaum, the sculpture uses plasticine and acrylic medium in place of grout

and line to create his sculptural installations.

Super great! Bravo!

I'm amazed - In an age where designers of every profession are tackling real life challenges head on and solving the problems of the changing world and society around us there are still artists getting away with this lazy, meaningless twaddle. 'Explore and expand the bounds of industrial materials' ? What ? By slapping some coloured grout in between a couple of breeze blocks and sticking it an art gallery ? Is that it ? Sorry, not good enough.

So?
Who told this person they were talented?
What a waste of cinder block. Unbelievable that the viewer should be subjected to this nothingness.

Gee wiz, Finlay, what are you saying? You are not waiting on the edge of your seat to see future executions with perhaps rebar? Imagine an installation held together with nothing more than say, welding. Maybe it's colored. Think of it—actually colored! And the line and texture potential! The mind reels.

And by the way, where I live I rarely encounter the word "twaddle." Makes me smile when it's applied so appropriately.

I wonder if the artist doesn't know about Carl Andre and his work -which is almost 50 years old now- with the same material, or just simply ignore them.

Still "exploring"?! I will almost pity him.

What? Carl Andre worked with form. The interesting thing about these works is the texture and surface.

to depart from art for a moment and think exclusively in terms of design:
can you just take a second to imagine a city where things are built out of this stuff?

A.MAZING.

Carl Andre worked with "industrial materials" as well -bricks in particular-, that's why I made the reference.
