'eleven heavy things' is an exhibition of interactive works by artist,
filmmaker and writer miranda july.
installed
within the pacific design centre plaza at MOCA, los angeles, the series
of 11 sculptures consists of cast fiberglass,
steel-lined pieces which
include pedestals to stand on, tablets fashioned with holes for body
parts and freestanding abstract headresses.
the work was first presented within the giardino delle vergini for the 53rd international venice art biennale
and most recently at union square park in new york in 2010.
