ball nogues studio at extension gallery for architecture

extension gallery for architecture in chicago is opening a new exhibition today called 'unseen current' featuring a
new work by ball nogues studio. the piece is described as 'a billow of fog' which flows through the entire gallery.
3,000 hanging strings, totaling 10 miles in length, are hung across the gallery walls creating a three-dimensional
form. the strings colour also transforms slowly from orange to blue. ball-nogues cite philip johnson's
hanging-chain window treatments at new york's four seasons hotel as an inspiration for the installation. the project
was executed with a special software which generated the final form and transformed it into the string medium.
