'copy art' by michael wolf

michael wolf is a german born photographer who grew up in the US and now lives and works in china, where he
has been for over 10 years. one of his more recent series is ‘copy art’, a collection of photos depicting chinese
artist holding their knock-off versions of famous artworks: ‘copy art’. the copy art industry in china is a
multi-million dollar industry that is a result of the rise in the global economy. however, beyond the immediate
commercial gains, the copy art industry also helps to train chinese artists, some of which create their own
original works later on.
