‘america the gift shop’  is a new series of products by artist phillip toleando. the premise behind the collection is ‘if american foreign policy had a gift shop, what would it sell?’. the project speaks to the current foreign policy in america and adds some humor to the situation. looking at the concept behind souvenirs as a reminder of an experience, toleando has created his own ‘souvenirs’ that represent the political, social and economic events the country has experienced over the last eight years.
