artist richard prince is best-known for his paintings and photography but he is now branching out into the
world of furniture design. in his current show at paris’ galerie partick seguin in association with gagosian
gallery, prince is presenting a chair he designed and a series of furnishings which he has collected.
limited edition ‘nurse hat chair’ is prince’s creation, inspired perhaps by his iconic nurse paintings.
the other works on show are all inspired by his passion for rare book collecting. the furnishings on
show were acquired to house his collection, but are in themselves sculptures.
