inspired by the advertising aesthetic, french artist alain delorme created 'little dolls', a series of images which mix
innocent youth with commercial subject. his photographs take an ironic and quite concerning analysis
at young girls and western female stereotypes. he looks at icons such as the Barbie doll, whose image has
become a main object of identity for young girls. the subject's of each image, with their forced smiles
and attitudes, are all constrained by an ever-present hand, as if holding the girls back from falling into a world
of a particular feminine standard and plastic transformations.
