‘silence’, 2008
sarah-jane lynagh is a young photographer who explores large themes in her work from a personal
perspective. her photographs are characterized by the use of unconventional materials such as parts
of dead animals, which she turns into props. these props are used to augment portraits, where the
body is the main concern. ‘her intent is to turn the body inside out and subvert the role of the meat
making it an attachment to the outer body in order to evoke feelings that something is habitual yet out
of place and threatening.’
