this exhibition is a follow up to the successful publication and exhibition, ‘carte blanche: volume 1’ which
examined the best in contemporary canadian photography. in volume 2, the focus is painting. like volume 1,
volume 2 is also a publication which features works by 192 emerging, mid-career and established artists.
the exhibit curators, clint roenisch and david liss have selected 10 artist from each category for the exhibit.
some of canada’s most important painters are included in this selected 30, as well as its young avant-garde.
if anything, this exhibit and publication demonstrate the rich, buoyant and diverse canadian art scene.
