‘the double club’, london by carsten höller

the double club project was conceived of by artist carsten höller and opened in an old victorian warehouse
in london on november 21. the club features a bar, restaurant and dance club aimed to blend congolese
and western culture. höller divided each space into two equally sized congolese and western parts.
each part combines the culture’s music food and visual aesthetics, contrasting it to its counterpart.
the club hopes to become a fixture in the london scene, offering something different. the project is
presented by the fondazione prada, who will soon publish a book and a music compilation documenting
the various stages of the project.
