in the works of japanese artist kaneuji teppei, existing images and objects, such as maps,
visuals from cosmetic ads, certain types of action figure, plug sockets, and pet bottles,
are cut out, dismantled, then joined with other things to be recomposed as organic forms.
this series, consists of green soldier action figures enveloped by white monsters with
expressive faces.

a solo show by kaneuji teppei is scheduled at the yokohama museum of art
from march 20 - may 25, 2009. for the exhibition the entire venue will be transformed
into a single dynamic space, at the nucleus of which will be the artist's first attempt at
a video installation, an animation combining drawings and photographs.
kaneuji teppei was born in osaka in 1978, he lives and works in kyoto, japan.
