‘bad innovation in the name of protection’ 2007 (painted metal, wheels, bullet proof glass)
kristof kintera is a multi-disciplinary artist from the czech republic. he creates sculptures and installations
by combining or altering ordinary objects in unusual ways. these works are often sight-specific, modifying
elements in the street or inside a building. however the majority of pieces are singular sculptures designed
for the gallery, often employing robotics of electrical parts. the works are often filled with humour,
designed to play off consumer culture and contemporary objects. by modifying common object from
everyday life, kintera gives them new meaning and allows us to see a more removed perspective.
kintera lives and works in prague and exhibits throughout europe and world.
