artist carlos no is currently displaying an installation entitled 'solarium' at ACERT
(association cultural and recreative, tondela) in portugal.
the work consists of two pieces of wood from the same trunk that are hung on one
column in the centre of the gallery. each trunk features plastic figurines.
LED screens are placed on various walls in the room displaying the poem of the
portuguese writer carlos de oliveira upon which no's work
was based on.
'solarium is an installation about the question of the social and economical asymmetries
in our world, and with this installation i'm questioning some concepts such as justice,
freedom and exclusion' - carlos no
