winkler+noah: 'the puppet show'

'the puppet show' is a new photographic work by italian studio winkler+noah.
30 portraits of children aged between two to eight years old were taken and transformed
into dolls by subtle retouching. the studios' statement was 'the best present we can
give to children is to let them be children'. the project has received two international
awards from the american photography of new york and has been published in the
volume '200 best photographers worldwide' by luerzers archive.

it's not as creepy as I had heard it would be; I almost wish they had done more with the retouching effects because after the first one I feel as if I'm just looking at normal photos of normal children. The jaw lines are very unnoticeable, but still this is a clever and creative idea.

The many images together representing repetition, becomes the norm, the images loses strength...
If the images were set within the mist of other works, such as everyday images, that would make a reference point, then it might work...
