work at multinatural parade (blackout)
known above all as a musician, over the last few years arto lindsay has been working
on the concept of the parade as an art form in itself. arto lindsay has been chosen by
the director of the 53rd daniel birnbaum international art exhibition as one of the artists
in the making worlds//fare mondi section. his contribution is a parade entitled
multinatural (blackout) which features a collaboration with the fondazione claudio
buziol in venice.
for the venice exhibition lindsay is preparing a new musical composition based on white
noise, rhythmic silence and a samba written specially for the performance.
new york musician and architect peter zuspan is working with lindsay on sound design
and software.
carlos casas, artist in residence at the fondazione claudio buziol, will provide the project
with a video work, an editorial project and full documentation of the project as it evolves.
american choreographer richard siegal is responsible for the choreography, assisted by
sébastien mari (also an artist in residence at the fondazione claudio buziol).
the costumes and accessories will be designed and created – under the watchful eye of
arto lindsay – by students and graduates from the fashion design course at the iuav
university - cattedra claudio buziol (directed by maria luisa frisa).
the parade will take place on june 5th from 6pm beginning at giardini at
the venice art biennale.
