earlier this month richard woods' installation 'wall and door and roof' was unveiled
at city hall park, new york. he was commissioned by the public arts fund, celebrating
their 20th exhibition.

fusing art, architecture, and design, woods completely transforms structures and spaces
to create vividly different surroundings that merge reality with fantasy. wall and door
and roof is an imaginative translation of various structural elements at city hall. woods’
faux renovation includes cladding the security booths in a printed facade of cartoon-like
red bricks and covering a set of lobby doors in a printed graphic that is a replication of itself.
