venice art biennial 2007: el anatsui

in the arsenale venue at the venice art biennale 2007, two great walls of what appear
to be fabric or tapestry hang between columns. in fact, el-anatsui's works are made from
bottle labels, tags and caps, copper wire, washers and aluminium detritus, recycled into
these tessellated, heavy, glittering fields of imagery.
