rossi & rossi gallery in london is currently showcasing the work of tibetan-american artist palden
weinreb. as weinreb first solo exhibit, ‘this world is flat’ contains a variety of works works on paper,
mixed media prints and new media wall sculpture. weinreb’s work is influenced by buddhist practices
and he describes his process as a ‘shamanisti compulsion to create meticulous hand drawn lines’.
these hand drawn lines run across many of the works on show, most of which are large in scale yet
use delicate media such as graphite to create a contrast. weinreb also employs new technology in
works like ‘astral redux’, which is made by laser cutting lines into wood and mounting it over an
LED panel.
