shao yung yeh: qashqai and the giant dandelion - think outside the parking box competition shortlisted revealed

'qashqai and the giant dandelion' by shao yung yeh from taiwan, is one of the
66 shortlisted entries from our recent designboom competition 'think outside the parking box'
in collaboration with nissan.
the robotic giant dandelion is a new form of parking construction, which is composed of
three levels of parking plates built from kinetic arms that are connected to a central rotating base.
the parking plates are lifted and lowered to and from the ground, providing elevated parking spaces.
they also change color from red to green indicating when a space is available and vice versa.
in order to let drivers see the parking spaces clearly and to add a bit of visual interest to the urban scene,
they also glow in the dark.
