vuitton rocks!

vuitton rocks!

luxury powerhouse louis vuitton went back and paid a genius homage to their roots
with branding updates of moody pretty travel scenarios.
the ads are produced by ogilvy & mather and photographed by guru annie leibovitz,
the campaign restates travel as the fundamental and defining value, interpreting it
as a personal journey and a process of self-discovery.

keith richards is not only somehow still alive, but he is also the new (um...old?) face of louis vuitton.
he is strumming his guitar in a hotel room, transformed by draping black scarves with skull motifs over the lamps
and placing a skull on a bedside table the campaign is tagged with the line 'some journey's cannot be put into words
(ed. especially if you can't remember them), new york 3 a.m. blues in C.'

antoine arnault, head of communications at louis vuitton, said: 'we thought it was important to continue
with someone unexpected. I think when people are flipping through a magazine, this will stop them'.
the rolling stones guitarist said 'I told them, I'll only do it if you make me a guitar case with the logo on it,
and they've done it. I'm very proud of it. I'll probably never travel with it, because it's just too beautiful.'
the rocker declined payment for his participation, and instead a donation went to the climate project
pioneered by al gore richards says he's rich enough, thank you.

poking out of the bag is a publication with the headline, 'the murder of litvinenko: they wanted to give up the suspect for ,000.'

pietro beccari, director of marketing at louis vuitton, said the goal of the new campaign was to broaden
the appeal of the brand particularly in relatively new markets like russia and china.
vuitton, part of the LVMH moët hennessy louis vuitton luxury-goods conglomerate, also wants to ingratiate
itself with men products for women now represent about 65 percent of sales, he said.
gorbachev was initially reluctant to participate, but he was persuaded when vuitton made a donation
to his environmenta charity, green cross international, which is cited in the ad.
