bic to launch disposable mobile phone
bic may be best known for their disposable ballpoint pen, but that isn’t stopping them from
branching out into new territory. in their latest move, bic is teaming up with orange france
and alcatel to launch the ‘bic phone’. the phone will include a pre-charged battery, SIM card
and one hour’s worth of free calls, the user need only activate the phone. although the
phone can be topped up with more minutes, bic’s disposable brand positioning suggests
that you can simply throw the phone away. influx insight’s ed cotton has some input on
the viability of bic’ disposable brand positioning in today’s marketplace.
