yesyesno took the idea of shadow puppets in front of a night light and turned it into a full scale
installation projected onto the side of the auckland ferry building. the installation was produced in
collaboration with the church, inside out productions and electric canvas. going beyond a simple
projection, ‘night lights’ turns viewers into performers, projecting their shadows and blowing them up
five stories tall. viewers could interact with the project on three levels, using the whole body, just their
hands and through tracking the movement of mobile phones. the users created shadows which were
overlaid on top of a series of 6 different scenes that cycled through every hour.
