lego and felt-tip marker printer

a british designer and coder named adam, created this computer printer made entirely from lego that
uses a felt-tip marker instead of ink. the printer was built entirely from scratch using analog motor
electronics, sensors and a printer drive. the printer is driven using lego that propels the maker,
producing images at 75 dpi. each marker last for quite a few pages, but the printer is rather slow so
printer a multiple page document isn’t recommended.

The idea seems really similar to a pen plotter (rather than a printer).
I leave you the link to the 1992 catalogue with the kit:

I had the original thing back in 1992 as a kid...it was an absolute mess! It could only redo steps and 45° lines you "programmed" before. Absolutely useless.
I don't think this guy here used it as a basis, his printer looks much closer to a real printer than to the 1992 LEGO original. And it creates pretty decent prints!
