if mode folding bike

if mode folding bike

the if mode folding bike aims to bring the comfort factor from a full-size bike to a conveniently sized
compact folding design. the concept is the creation of designers ryan carroll, michael lin and mark
sanders. the design is aimed at urban dwellers who may not have considered biking before. therefore the
if mode has a streamlined design without all the technical gear so often found on bigger bikes. the bike
folds very simply into a compact form that is perfect for storing at home or in an office and can be rolled
around when folded. each wheel has only one arm to minimize weight even further, bring the bike’s total
weight to 14.7 kg.

Nice design !

Is there a version with mud guards? Folding bikes are very popular in the Netherlands but mud guards are essential!
Great design.

Surprisingly, most folding bikes need to be carried, despite the obvious fact that they have wheels. Think about it. This is a beautiful bike and cleverly folds and rolls quickly. Beautiful. Mark Sanders is the best.

For sure one of the coolest folding bikes around. Stop by for a folding demo and test ride - IF Mode

The IF mode is the most stunning folding bike, cheaper than a Ferrari, same amount of attention...

Very slick, one might not even know it is a folding bike until the user pulls it down. I am especially fond of the use of disc brakes.

Nice looking and compact, but.... as anyone who rides daily will know, the more moving parts/joints you have the weaker the frame and more maintenance you need to do as things vibrate loose, dirt gets in the joints. If this is for non enthusiasts then no maintenance is the key not high maintenance.

Also, the seat stem is way too long to hold any weight or would need to be so thick it would be very heavy (or incredibly expensive). I'm dubious about the geometry, the seat looks too far back in relation to the pedals.

Better off getting a proper bike and investing £20 in a bike hoist if storage is an issue. A Bike's primary function after all is for riding not storing!

The geometry looks pretty close to me. Thanks to compact bikes, seat posts have come a long way & they are CF to save wt.

This is really the coolest foldable bike I've ever seen before.

14.7 kg is in no way "minimizing weight." That's a hell of a heavy bike.

This is no way makes it less cool, I'm just saying that insinuating that it's light weight is wrong.

It's worth mentioning that Ryan Carroll designed this bike as well as the award winning "Strida" bicycle. He clearly is a man who is thinking differently about bicycles.

Thanks for all the great comments. Mark Sanders concept is amazing. I really enjoyed working with him and Michael Link sculpting and realizing this design into reality. I was a real challange as we had to create and many unique details to bring this cycle to life.
