magic bulb LED flashlight
the chinese company magic bulb unveiled a new LED light bulb that doubles as a portable flashlight. the bulb design
uses an insignificant 4 watts of power to create as much light as a 50W incandescent bulb. while the light can simple
screw into any socket in your home, it can also be removed and used as a flashlight. a built-in rechargeable battery
provides power to the light, giving it a life span of 3 hours on a full charge. while the battery may run out of juice
over time, the light bulb itself is estimated to last for 20,000 hours.

What an excellent idea. My experience with LED lights is that they are a little to focused, for general lighting, but something like this, in an easy-to-reach base (desk lamp, say) would make an excellent backup system. Colour me impressed.
