beautiful modeler



beautiful modeler is a software tool developed by karl d.d. willis that enables users to perform gestural sculpting using
a multi-touch controller. thanks to multi-touch technology on devices like the ipad, users can use five fingers to control five
touch points simultaneously. each finger is assigned a control point and can adjust the 3d form in multiple ways. the built-in
gyroscope on the ipad can also be used to change the viewing angle. the controller is wireless and can be moved around
while the model is displayed on a computer. willis demonstrated the device’s capability by digitally printing the negative
of one of his forms to create a lamp.
