peugeot ex1

peugeot ex1

to celebrate their 200th anniversary, the french car maker peugeot developed a new concept car that merges
its motorcycle and automotive expertise in the ex1. the lightweight car features two seats and no top with
power coming from 4 wheel mounted electric motors that add up to 340 horsepower. the exterior design is
quite dramatic with a large front air intake, side scoops and low-profile wind screen. while the car won’t
likely see a production line, the prototypes constructed by peugeot are said to have achieved excellent results.

The best proposal of all aero cars.
g.n.   11.23.10
Peugeot really cranks out a lot of hot-looking concept cars. They must employ a lot of really talented designers.
Dan   11.24.10
Wicked renders!! makes the otehrs look like high school output!
Ian   11.24.10
so complicated! all those details will create a lot of drag and noise. concept for eyes.

Nice to see the new Lleida-Alguaire Airport (Catalonia) as a background for the pictures.

nice helmet
robin   11.24.10
Awesome design, I wonder if any of the car canvas features will make it into an actual road car though.

The helmet is a Ruby.

What hell is this???? I see PEUGEOT crap PROTOTYPES all the time and they all suck. AMERICAN MUSCLE CARS are the best.
BOOM BOOM BOOM   11.25.10
Peugeot put out a lot of beautiful concepts, only wish they put as much effort into the actual road cars
Toks   11.26.10
thank you for your comments. It was a great pleasure to work on this project.

I love it!!!!

Boom are you referring to the cars built by the American motor industry which are so good that nobody anywhere was buying any and the entire industry collapsed into complete freefall and had to be bailed out by the government? Or the US muscle cars that were still using wishbone suspension late into the 20th century? The same suspension used for centuries on carts pulled by animals.
I concede that American muscle cars can look good and certainly sound great - but the build quality is poor at best and the road handling a dangerous joke in the 21st Century.
I do wonder why car manufacturers spend so much time, effort and money on these radical prototypes which then get watered down to mediocrity by marketing and management monkeys.

I don't understand these car/motorcycle designs.. Any one who truly enjoys riding motorcycles would not derive similar pleasure from driving these things.. Honestly, I think they're in-practical and inferior designs that take away from both auto and motorcycle design. Instead, car designs should be melded with helicopter & jet designs.. This would be much more interesting, avant-garde & truly an impressive concept.

Olivier: Very creative, unique and inspiring. Do wish more great ideas would reach production. would love to see more of your work.
Brent Blake   11.27.10
Hands up if anyone thinks that it looks like the batmobile front to back!
Carlito   11.27.10
Carlito, you beat me to it! I was going to say, this ought to be the next batmobile!
G.   11.28.10
I would be proud to meet Batman and to present him this real and incredible machine . try to hear its engine noise on youtube website, unbelievable !. some of other projects I designed are Peugeot B1k (hybrid bycicle concept) and Peugeot Treeglow (christmas tree). you could find them on internet. Thank you for your comments.

No rear fender, slinging road grime up over the back of the car is a deal-breaker! If the dealer can add some kind of tire-wiping blade across the back-side of the tread, then maybe I won't laugh at the design... Besides, I don't like the front-clip. It just doesn't transcend typical sports car design in the same way that the rest of the car does.
BkWdsDrftr   11.29.10
well I agree with you that the back and sides look like they've taken a leap forward but the front still looks fairly conventional. seems like all the out-of the-box thinking went to the sides and back... still a great looking machine though!
.... not sure abt the dealer sticking bits on the car; is that what dealers do where you're from?
Carlito   11.29.10
Pointless
E P Jameson   11.29.10
Beautiful design. I only disagree with the way it tapers down towards the back...maybe less would be better? Purely a personal taste in shape.

This could become a production vehicle (with a roof) with minimal change...and would sell like mad! :-)
Matthew   11.29.10
Bravo Maestro !
This is pure talent.
A great demonstration made by Peugeot.
A plus for the brand's credibility.
geza jans   12.02.10
looks like the batmobile
alex   12.02.10
now this is one mean looking, fast moving machine.
