stefan ulrich undertook an intensive research project which investigated artificial muscles and developed a series
of explorations which led to an interactive prototype. new artificial muscle research can have a big impact on the
future of product design, bringing inanimate object to life. ‘funktionide’ is the prototype ulrich developed, ‘a white
amorphous object whose intention is to provide the owner with an atmosphere of presence to counteract feelings
of loneliness.’
