'infobar A01 - nishikigoi' android™ 2.3
it has been eight years since the release of the first-generation 'infobar' cell phone by japanese designer naoto fukasawa
for mobile phone producer iida. collaborating together once again, the newest edition, 'infobar A01' references the
formal DNA of the first-generation device, with the smartphone re-design
exhibiting the same signature tile-like keys,
hand fitting form and similar
palette of colors as its predecessor.

Why do all washing machines look simillar
Why do all planes have wings
Why do all pens have a pointy end
Why do all cups have a hollow form to contain a volume.
Why are all Gods omni present.
Why does everything have to be compared to an iphone.
g1nchy seems theres a lot of people who don't delve into technology enough to realise there are other phones and MP3 players so just thanks to the marketing of Apple believe that Steve Jobs created all the devices they produce 1st and really are the best.

Why does everything have to be compared to an iphone.
maybe... because of the striking resemblance?
To say it is based on an 8 yr old model is ok, but have you seen that model? there is no relation between the earlier model and the iphone. So to suggest iida was first with this look...
In MY eyes this design is just not new, fresh interesting enough for designboom.
To understand me correct: I have never had any apple products and I am definetly not an Apple afficionado!
Maybe because every competitors in this market use exactly the same technology, same screen same processor same battery, so they have exactly the same mechanical constrains, so they find the same solutions and this solution is in the form factor, a black block!
More over if mobile manufacturers seems to be not so courageous in the design definition it's because final consumer is a sheep and if a phone is not a copy of an Iphone he doesn't buy it.
Only HTC can try to be different but they've spent and the will continue to spent a lots of money a marketing, TV Add and so on...
So at the end my feeling is that this one is nice quite far from an Iphone in term of design, and has a pretty nice UI.
