voomote iPhone universal remote
the 'voomote one' base and application converts iPhones and iPod touch devices into a universal home remote
the 'voomote one' by berlin-based company zero1 transforms iPhones into a universal remote for home,
capable of being organized by room or specific actions to streamline device control of televisions,
audio systems, DVD players, lamps, and numerous other technology.
'voomote one' is composed of a free app and a plastic base that fits over iPhone and iPod touch devices.
the application is continually being updated-- at present preloaded with device information from a spectrum
of 574 TV brands, almost 1000 DVR brands, and 150 audio player companies-- and capable of capturing
30,000 infrared codes from thousands of other devices. any products missing from the database can be 'taught'
to the device with the 'teach-in' feature, by pointing the product's original remote control towards the base
of the 'voomote one' and pressing down corresponding buttons.
the application interface streamlines control of devices, offering the ability to organize products by room
or to use 'one view' mode that combines multiple remote controls onto a single screen. this latter function
is useful for creating 'action commands', in which for example, the TV, DVD player, and stereo system
that will all be used in order to play a video can all be easily controlled from a single screen.

the 'voomote one' shell contains an infrared transmitter at its top, used to install and control devices,
as well as a second transmitter on its base that is used to 'learn' new devices. three different adapters
make the 'voomote' compatible with all recent iPhone and iPod touch devices.
with the base retailing for 99 USD, 'voomote one' is available beginning early august for international order online.
