japanese electronics company sony releases the first head-mounted display with two organic EL panels (1280 x 720 pixels - horizontal x vertical),
the 'HMZ-T1'. the device allows users to enjoy HD content, offering an equivalent of 20m (approximately 750 inches) virtual viewing distance.
it has a view angle of 45 degrees, providing an experience similar to if you were in a wide-screen movie theatre through 3D video support.

5.1ch virtual surround technology (virtualphones technology) has been developed for the headphones, and comes with four modes:
standard, cinema, games and music so you can select the best surround mode for your use. convenience features of the 'HMZ-T1'
include sensor configuration, install passwords off, autopower and HDMI CEC compatibility.

overall, the device measures W210 x H126 x D257mm (head-mounted unit), including the headband approximately
W180 x H36 x D168mm minimum moving parts, including maximum projection and weighs about 420g (head mounted unit),
600g excluding cables around processor unit.

Head tracking would've nice. Now you need track ir for that. Oled's going to make this a whole new ball game compared to the low resolution visors of the past. Big screen tv for the masses and virtual reality gadget for the simmers.
