BERG: clocks for robots concept

'clocks for robots' QR clock concept by studio BERG

proposed by london-based design consultants BERG, the 'clocks for robots' concept offers
an authentication of date and time to the digital eyes of smartphones, cameras, and other devices.

'we’re interested in the markings and shapes that attract the attention of computer vision,
connected eyes that see differently to us
,' the designers reflect. 'one of the things I find most interesting
about this is how turning a static marking like a QR code into a dynamic piece of information somehow
makes it seem more relevant: less of a visual imposition on the environment and more part of a system,
embedded in time and space.'

authentication of date and time may become more important as services increasingly connect with
or utilize smartphones for transactions, information exchange, and validation. of course these devices
have built-in clocks, but not across a universally-verified standard; one can always alter the date or time
on the device before taking a photo, thus maintaining false records.

the concept mockup shown in the video and images utilizes QR time, which generates a unique QR code for each second.
