the photorealistic human face masks by real-f are custom-made for each client

japanese company real-f creates photorealistic masks and mannequins of human subjects

the company uses '3DPF (3D photo form) technology', a technique of modeling in three dimensions
by shooting photographs from a range of angles and imprinting the image on vinyl chloride resin
stretched over a 3D-printed mold. the process replicates details as minute as skin texture
and iris and blood vessel patterns in the eye.

the sitting and photography of the client must be done in person with real-f technicians, and the pieces themselves
are created in less than two weeks. the 'real face' mask (costing approximately 3900 USD) and the 'real head'
mannequin model (costing approximately 5865 USD) are both colorfast and water-resistant. at present, the company
creates only closed-mouth models.
